A new era in facility management in India

A new era in facility management in India
01May

India is all set to rule the world's economy, for it is rapidly progressing towards economic growth and opening mass employment opportunities. This growth paints a picture of how and where India will be in the next five years and it looks bright and promising. Although the fear of recession lurks in the future, India will remain unaffected due to solid government schemes, giving opportunities to shine and making us feel grateful to be in a country like this. At the crux of this transformation are several administrative initiatives such as 'Make in India', schemes for Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to support small and medium-sized businesses, and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) uplift the marginalized society and eradicate poverty.

Various MSME schemes have already resulted in the booming of the manufacturing sector. The visionary DDU-GKY by the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) has been set up categorically to “transform rural poor youth into an economically independent and globally relevant workforce.” As part of the Skill India programme, this campaign aims to play an instrumental role in supporting associated social and economic programs of the government like Make In India, Digital India, Smart Cities, Start-Up India, and Stand-Up India. By focusing on over 180 million youth aged 18-34 in rural India, DDU-GKY will create a large resource pool of skilled workers. Indeed, government initiatives like these will significantly revolutionize Indian industries, including the facility management industry, as they incorporate the programmes by National Skill Development and National Council on Vocational Training that focus on developing soft skills, teaching the English language, understanding teamwork, gaining computer literacy and other technical skills.

This will enable facility management companies like us to hire highly trained, skilled and advanced workforce and scale faster than ever before. Unify Facility Management has been developing growth plans for the next few years that will leverage these schemes and initiatives to reach more geographies, service more customers and provide more value than ever before. We wish to use our nation’s human capital effectively to not only create more jobs but also create world-class facilities in our country, thus contributing to its economic growth. Stay tuned as we rev up our engine on this exciting journey!
